I had metal crown on molar(#31)but it lasted about ten years. A part of the top surface area was removed and cement underneath was exposed. The broken crown was replaced with again a metal crown. This time it lasted only one year. The damage was done in the same way as the previous one. I chose metal crown because the both dentists who did the first one...

I'm about to go back to my dentist after a 7 year absence where I was starting my own business and couldn't afford dental work. How is a cavity officially diagnosed ? At one time in my life I didnt see a dentist for 5 years...I kept my teeth in good shape...stayed away from sugar as much as I could... So I went to the dentist (after 5 years) and he said I have no cavaties...everything looks fine. Another 5 years has passed....I went to another dentist this time..and he says...

Hi all, Had a root canal on a molar back in February, got crown put on in March. Since then, I have minor lingering soreness in that tooth - mainly when I bite. Here is the background: Before I moved to this state, I was going to a dentist in Texas for 8 years. He either redid a couple of fillings that were done either 5-6 years 8-9 years prior to that or one could be a new one, a small one on the side or surface. I don't remember the detail one those but I had one big filling done in early 1993 that I didn't...
