Hi everyone. Just requesting a bit of help. I have been trying to find the definition of "line of sight" in textbooks and over the web, to no avail. Can anyone provide the technical definition of this concept? Thanks in advance. Gwen

I'm considering getting into multi-focal contacts and want to figure out the ongoing cost. Is buying contacts online a safe way to save money (after the initial fit by an OD of course)? I remember from having worn contacts previously that it's not just about the prescription, but also the curvature of the eye. Can lenses that are correct in every aspect...

Hello. I read that two people with the same prescription might have different standards of vision. I have -2 and -2.50 and feel I see badly without them. My boyfriend is -2.50 and -2.50 and just wears them to drive. Why is that we interpret the same prescription so differently? -- Message posted via * w w w .medkb . com

In 1996 I had PRK on both eyes. At the time, LASIK was not available in Canada, and lasers did not have eye-tracking systems. In my left eye, I ended up with a decentered ablation. In my right eye, I ended up with a small ablation zone. The result was that I had severe diplopia (double images) in the left eye and haloes and some ghosting in the right. I...

I can't work out what eyepiece correction to use on my binoculars. I think the binoculars are a bit crap and have some play in the front-back position of the eyepieces. If I can made a nominally correct setting then the slight movement would occur around that correct value. My spectacles prescription is quite astigmatic: (R) -0.25 -3.00 x5 ...

6 days ago, I suddenly experienced an irritation in my right eye, in the outer corner. It felt like something was in there, a bit of dust perhaps. I couldn't dislodge it, I now believe nothing was actually in the eye. However, that part of the eye was bloodshot, it looked like an injury of some sort. There was no trauma, no obvious explanation. The...

Hi My prescription says that my right eye needs a toric lens with: cyl=-1.75 and ax=130 Since I only use my contacts when doing outdoor activities like skiing or at the beach I would *really* prefer to use lenses for daily use. I live in sweden and here it's not possible to get lenses with my prescription here and as far as I have found out on the net...

1) Could u guys suggest brands of contact lens that i could wear comfortably for 2 or 3 days without soaking it? (Other than Night&Day and PureVision and Acuvue Oasys) 2) is it important to get "compatible" cleaning solutions? Much appreciated!!

The majority of patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis are asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, although some may have advanced disease. The disease should be considered in patients with inflammatory bowel disease who have otherwise unexplained abnormal liver biochemical tests, particularly an elevation in serum alkaline phosphatase. A review of...

Is it ethical to charge for a wrong diagnosis? I was recently diagnosed with Fuchs'. I understand that it is a fairly easy disease to diagnose, but the first two doctors who examined me did not find it. The first thought my problem was cataracts but was not sure and he refereed me to a cataract surgeon. The second was an Ophthalmologist who said my only...
