How much is ILADS worth? If you look at the exhibit to the Settlement Agreement, you will see a
question, (#5) that asks potential panelists, for conflict analysis
purposes, to estimate the amount of income generated from treating
Lyme disease in their practices.
I think there are three categories...and the highest is over $25,OOO.
(I assume that this may well be the intended cut-off point for
conflict purposes. A doctor who draws more than 25 thou a year from
treating Lyme in his/her practice. Doesn't say so, though).
Now, I don't really know...but from what I read over at
LymeNUT...seems like a member of ILADS could hit $25 Gs in gross
revenue pretty quickly. And it would seem as though some of this may
be largely untraceable...as I guess, some of them refuse insurance
payments and insist on cash payments only. (Nice work, if you can get
it, BTW).
But I do recall reading that some patients claim that the initial
billing for the first consultation may be in the thousands...
So...that started me thinking...I wonder what the annual haul from ALL
of these "LLMD"s combined is?
AND...therefore, how much is the referral of these patients by Lymenet
worth to ILADS members and Igenex?
Hmmm?
How much is this combined enterprise worth?...(including Igenex). How
much $$$ is raked in by the LLMDs?
Any thoughts, anyone? Any creative ideas of how to make a sort of
ballpark estimate?
Just an interesting perspective...when you're talking about
"conflicts"...
