Post Subject:

Same liver biopsy but two different pathology reports ??

Reply from: george l

Hello,

I'm trying to uncover which pathology report is the correct one and
WHY...

One report says I have Cirrhosis stage 3 and another says I dont...
This is from the same 3 liver biopsy slides but under two different
doctors at two
different hospitals......

Matter became complicated after I had to replace Hematologists and the
new Hematologist was skeptical of my reports.

How can I resolve this discrepancy and be sure its the correct
analysis ??

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated

George

George,
Please tell us whether or not you have most of the symptoms of Cirrhosis
and the results of these blood tests:
AST (SGOT)
ALT (SGPT)
LDH
Total Bilirubin
Alkaline Phosphatase

I'd have to look over LDH & Alkaline Phosphatase in my records

Thanks

George

George,
Visit this site:

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000255.htm

After reading all of the information at the website, you should be able to
figure out whether or not you have the symptoms of cirrhosis.

What was the reason for the biopsy of your liver?

Jason

sorry for the delay....

the reasons for the biopsy were:
- high Iron
- HFE gene (HHC)
- low Hgb
- large liver shown in CAT

George,
Thanks for the update. I suggest that you ask your doctor for diet plans
and treatment programs. There is a M.D. named Sandra Cabot that wrote a
book related to a diet program and treatment program for people that have
liver problems. I do not remember the name of the book. Her website is:
www.liverdoctor.com

I read the book about three years ago and loaned it to someone that never
returned it. That's the reason that I can not tell you the title of the
book.

You may want to google "fatty liver" to determine if you have the symptoms
of that disorder.
