Dear Sir/Madam
You have been sent this questionnaire because your name have come up in
relation to allergies. This may be because you are listed on an allergy
related mailing list, or your name have come up during a web search.
We kindly ask you to fill in and return the questionnaire at your earliest
convenience to jj@allexyn . com . If the questionnaire is not relevant to you
we are sorry to have wasted your time.
This questionnaire have been made to assess the relevance and usefulness of
a new allergy diagnostic system currently being developed by Allexyn medical
diagnostics. We are interested in responses from wide group of people
ranging from medical doctors to patients suffering from allergies.
Short summary of the Allexyn allergy screening test
Allexyn medical diagnostics are currently developing an allergy diagnostic
system, consisting of a table top instrument and a palette of disposable
allergy test cartridges. Each cartridge contains a panel of relevant allergy
tests. When fully developed there will be approximately 20 different
cartridges, ranging from very general to very specific. Each cartridge will
contain from 10 to 100 different allergy tests. The cartridges use
approximately 5 microliter of whole blood obtained from a finger prick.
Obtaining blood from a finger prick is virtually painless and can be done in
the clinic instead of being send to a laboratory. The test results are
available on the instruments screen within 15 minutes. The precision and
reliability of the test results are similar to the allergy blood tests
currently performed in laboratories. The instrument will be priced low so it
is realistically available to all medical doctors. The price of the test
cartridges will be below or similar to the price of current laboratory
tests.
Allexyn's first allergy cartridge will be an allergy screen for the 15-20
most common allergy types. The panel is not yet specified, but it is likely
that it will contain tests for: Birch, Ragweed, Timothy Grass, Mugwort,
Latex, Soybean, Rice, Codfish, Wheat, Peanut, Egg white, Cow's Milk,
Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Alternaria, Dog, Cat, Cockroach and Mites, which
is some of the most frequent allergies.
The Allexyn allergy test will provide the same quality results as a
traditional laboratory, but will provide the results much faster, cheaper
and at less discomfort to the patient.
