hi harv - \I haven't used newsgroups in 5 years and have forgotten some
basics. Can you point me to 'how to' info? I don't want to read or
download past the last 2 months and can't figure out how 'not to'.

I see you are usine Outlook Express. In my version you highlight the
relevant newsgroups in the newsgroup pane and then do EDIT > CATCH
UP.
If you have a different version to me, try looking up Catch up command
in the help file index.
