Cyber Knife's forte is its ability to precisely target radiation. On
the other hand, most prostatic tumors are diffuse and multifocal.
Pathologic examination of the prostate after removal often reveals
tumors that were not clinically identified using the biopsy and
imaging techniques available today. So the question becomes, is
precise targeting an advantage when all tumors may not have been
identified? Still, Cyber Knife is being used to treat prostate
cancer, but its introduction has been recent and I'm not aware of any
published (peer-reviewed) studies that compare outcomes from Cyber
Knife to other PCa treatment methodologies.
You might want to repost your question over on
alt.support.cancer.prostate; there is a lot more "trafiic" over
there. BTW, Cyber Knife has been discussed there, so you could start
by searching Cyber Knife within that newsgroup...ron
