Yes ! I [66 yo] with years of BPH, too was 'tipped over the
threshold by a fractured femur which forced inactivety.
IMO he should IMMEDIATELY have a catheter fitted: a low tech
immediate solution to empty the bladder and releive the back
pressure on the kidneys. This dropped my BP and removed the
other bad symptoms immediatly. It can be done at any hospital
casualty facility, and think about more permanent procedures
later. Once the kidneys stop generating output, permanent
damage starts !
