cannabis and psychosis

this is a personal perspective.

Cannabis does not cause or increase the risk of psychosis, it merely brings
to the fore whatever the chronic psychological state is presently. It also
seems to 'emphasise' whatever that state may be.

Tommy Chong has publicly stated this too.

This only seems to be true for those people who already have their attention
turned inward upon their psyches. e.g. if a person has something bubbling
under the surface like a fear or anxiety and there is some awareness of it,
then it will be brought to the surface (or even shoved in your face!) by
cannabis use. It can be treated like a friend showing you what you are
avoiding or an enemy to be feared.

Additionally, the sad but harsh truth is that the WHOLE of mankind is
psychotic to some degree (obviously in a wide range), but rarely will you
hear this. ;) I did hear this once declared by a respected psychologist,
whose name I don't remember, on bbc radio "all in the mind" about 3-5 yrs
ago. It is an unavoidable inevitability of how we learn; the nature of
language and our social and cultural conditioning.

From my own experience, this is a more honest way of evaluating this issue.

But none of this matters. The powers that be never let an uncomfortable
truth get in the way of a manipulative lie.
