Missed my weekly fosamax (liquid) dosage

Do I take it two days late or wait or get back to the weekly schedule?

Option 1: read the instructions (on the package I have - 3 1/2 years old now -
it says "take one Fosamax tablet on the morning after you remember.
Do not take two tablets on the same day. Return to taking one
tablet once a week, as originally scheduled on your chosen day.".
Instructions may have changed - check your package.)
Option 2: ask your pharmacist.
Option 3: ask your doctor.

What if you miss five days or something? Take on Day 6 and again on Day
7, when the next dosage is scheduled?

As I said, the box I have is over three years old. Instructions may have changed
since then. At that time, it would have been take on day 6 and again on day 7.
Doctors and Pharmacists may have a different opinion, and I would expect their
judgment to be better than mine.

If you haven't gotten around to talking to any doctor or pharmacist by
then, just skip the blasted dose. For a once a week dosing, that's
too close for comfort.

Since you can read newsgroups, why don't you Google up the
manufacturer's Web site and read the instructions there?

And what _are_ you doing taking three and one half year old meds?

I'm starting to think you're, at best, a troll of some sort. You
start with two days late then skip around to six days late. If you're
not a troll, you have lots more problems than just your bones.

I think you've combined fiction.notes and myself.

I'm the one with 3 1/2 year old Fosamax.

The reason that it is 3 1/2 years old is that my doctor told me to stop
taking it. So I did.

Ah. My apologies to both of you on that count.

For real medical advice, call your doctor.

Read the instructions. Most medications have something in print about
"...if you miss a dose..." Generally followed by telling you to take
the missed dose as soon as possible unless it's almost time for your
next dose.

If it were me, I'd already have taken it, but I'm neither a doctor nor
a nurse.
