Marie Osmond takes swipe at Billy Ray Cyrus
Speaking to AOL Television to promote her co-hosting duties on the upcoming
"America's Favorite Mom" Mother's Day television special, Marie Osmond
offered up some motherly advice of her own for Billy Ray Cyrus.
When asked if today's young celebs are under more pressure than she was
during her own youthful heyday, Marie said, "I can only speak for myself,
but, for example, the Miley thing - her dad stepped out (of the Vanity Fair
photo shoot). My parents never, never left us alone."
Marie sympathized with the position that left the 15-year-old "Hannah
Montana" star in. "How do you say no to somebody like Annie (Leibovitz) when
you're a little girl?" She added, "If your kids are going to be in that kind
of business, then you need to make it your business to be there for them."
Of course, Billy Ray can rest assured that deep down Marie knows you can't
always be there. While Marie participated in last season's "Dancing With the
Stars," her 16-year-old son, Michael, entered rehab for undisclosed reasons.
