How so ? When you are driving a vehicle, you are the captain of the ship, and
thusly responsible for your passengers safety.
If a passenger is not wearing a seat belt, it is your fault, not theirs.
Pulled over in such a situation, you get the ticket, not them.
Don't think Hogan buying the car and/or paying for the insurance would be
factors either.
Why leave it at that ? Did he pay to fill up the gas tank also ? Pay for
driving lessons ? All immaterial.
The one thing you got correct is the alcohol factor, for which he certainly
would be liable.
