For over 30 years The Clothing Show has been serving up a delicious
mingle of unmistakably unique,
inventive local =93must have=94 lines of apparel & accessories. This
Spring 2008, for the first time ever,
The Clothing Show takes it to the RUNWAY with a full roster of shows
scheduled throughout the
weekend.
We are excited to present this new addition to the show at our new
location, The Better Living
Centre at Exhibition Place.
=93This new building has provided us an opportunity to take the show in
a new direction, one that
presents fashion and art to the public in an accessible and
unpretentious way. Fashion and Art has
long been interconnected, and we feel that the addition of art in the
show is just another way of
representing the wealth of local talent.=94 says Producer, Bonnie
Meacham.
We are pleased to host the graduating students of George Brown Fashion
program with a special
preview runway show to kick off the opening night celebration. The
designers from our Boutique
Section will follow to present their seasonal designs.
Watch the camera=92s flash as the Loulou Fashion Photography Competition
for The Clothing Show
gets underway. Both amateur and professional photographers will
compete to take the best
photos of our runway shows as well as from staged backdrop shots at
the show.
Check out the Century of Fashion Competition display in the Vintage
section. Collectors bring out
their best museum quality pieces to produce the most historically
accurate depiction of each
decade in the 20th century.
