Aggregate Weight Comparison

A friend is having new foot drains installed around his house. The
contractor is using a dark stone (round rock) aggregate that's about 8 times
larger than number 57 gravel which I think is limestone. Although limestone
may weigh less than these small round rocks, I venture to guess that one
cubic yard of 57 gravel weighs more than one cubic yard of those small
rocks. My friend says "no" but can't give any logic to his answer.

I've seen these small rocks in the gravel pit when I've picked up loads of
57 so I think their pretty common and probably often used to fill on top of
footer drains. Anyone have an opinion of which - most likely - weighs more?
I'm positive if they were both made of two different sizes of the same
limestone, a cubic foot of number 57's would weigh more than the larger size
but I don't know how dense those darker stones are and if they are denser,
whether or not they would be dense enough to outweigh the added compactness
of the smaller stones.
