Re: Golden Nugget: Best Rooms?

Assuming you aren't going to shoot for a REAL upgrade, you have a choice
of the North or South towers. About the only difference is that the North
tower elevators open almost directly into the casino, whereas there is
quite a walk to get to your room in the South Tower.

SO, it depends upon your age and infirmities or lack thereof. I never
minded the walk to the South tower, but you might think it is interminable.

If you want to pay for the concierge floor, the rooms are great, though
the same size as the older rooms.

Doc is correct. The North Tower is much more convenient to the
casino, Fremont Street, etc. The South Tower is a little hike from
all those, but is very convenient to/from the self-parking deck.

The rooms themselves are virtually identical, and excellent. It is
very unlikely that you will get upgraded to any kind of suite, but a
North Tower upgrade is a pretty common thing, assuming you aren't
there during an extremely busy time.

Stu, You may want to visit their website and join their gold club. If
you can swing it the gold club rooms are in the north tower and are
superior to run-of-the-mill north tower rooms.

Good Luck

Steve--

I am assuming that by the "Gold Club Rooms" you are referring to the
concierge floor, and you are correct. Those rooms are something else. I
was surprised they could do so much with so little space, since they just
re-did the old rooms, but the bathroom, though still cramped, is vastly
improved. Nice having sodas, water, fruit, nuts and a paper as well.

Thanks guys...will have just one tote bag luggage...I am on a workout
binge currently so no worries North or South wing...got a comp stay
from a promotions group so thought I would go for it. I may try to
get in concierge floor...also staying a MSS and Terribles for a 8
night stay...should be a fun time...playing .25 videopoker and a bit
of poker at the tables(low limit). Sometimes play at dollar if winning
in videopoker.... Have all nights comped so looking forward to it in
two weeks...Stu

Re: Golden Nugget: Best Rooms?

On a side note----if you play "a dollar" at VP, you won't qualify for the
royal----at least play $1.25 if you are playing quarters.

BTW, I hope you are staying at the GN last, because the MSS and Terribles
will pale in comparison.

Re: Golden Nugget: Best Rooms?

No worries..I bet max on quarters and max at dollars (5) when playing
and usually always play full pay machines, see golden nugget has .25
in Bonus and then nothing till $5 machines in full pay...hit two
Royals last trip..(posted TR here I believe).

I have stayed at Terribles before and also MSS...so know what to
expect...sometimes dont use rooms a lot so no worries... a bed is a
bed...but am looking forward to the Golden Nugget....

FYI, the bartop machines at MSS have 9/6 JOB in $.25, $.50, and $1
denominations if you are looking for a "tweener" game between $.25 and
$1.

I don't know if you know my last name (though I will tell you by email if
you don't), but my father's and my brother's name was Dick. (Andrew---can
you put that together for a laugh?).

You were lucky to escape that particular family curse, Doc.
