Cameron's TR, Part 3

Cameron's TR, Part 3

Here is some more of my trip report, with stuff in no particular order.

- A couple times during the weekend, after have had several cocktails, I
recall telling people how great I felt...and it was 100% true. I distinctly
recall telling Matt & Burt that while walking to the car on our way from MSS
to the Joker's Wild for craps Sat. night, and I also recall telling Bill
from S.A. & Bill from Houston that Sunday at the 777. Walking the hot
pavement on Friday afternoon-evening hurt me feet somewhat & they were kind
of sore for the whole trip. However, after having some medicine from the
MSS bar or the 777, I felt great. Now I know what Otis on "The Andy
Griffith Show" meant when he used hooch for "medicinal purposes".

- I heard a lot of Steve Winwood in the casinos downtown, particularily in
the LVC-Golden Gate area. None of the material off his "Arc Of a Diver"
album, but his mid-late 80's stuff, i.e. "Roll With It", "Valerie", etc. I
like Steve Winwood, so it wasn't a problem. IMHO, he's a very talented
musician. On my next trip, I'd like to here more Sergio Mendes & Brasil
'66.

- It was great meeting so many new folks & their spouses, such as DocTom,
Dr. Baf, SkipfromLA, George Leppla, Wolfgang, Ace, Chef Kurt, etc... I hope
they were as glad to meet me as I was to meet them.

- A cabbie tried to long haul me from the Fremont to the LV Hilton. He
turned right from Casino Center Drive onto Ogden, then was going to take a
left towards the highway. I called him on it before he made the turn &
asked him why he was doing that, that I wanted him to take LV Blvd. to
Paradise. He gave me some song & dance about the congested traffic on the
Strip. I've had a couple cabbies over the years try to pull that, like
traffic around the Strat or Sahara is as bad as it is around Caesars Palace.
PUH-LEEEESE! He was quiet the rest of the ride to the Hilton....taking LV
Blvd to Paradise, where traffic was very light. It was a Sunday, around 10
PM.

- Thanks to Walt for giving me a ride to the airport. We stopped for gas,
where the music playing was "Give Me Some Lovin'" by the Spencer Davis
Group. And who sang lead vocals & played keyboards on that song? Why,
Steve Winwood, of course!

- Thanks also goes out to Matt for organizing the SSSOP, Soiree, & Sigma
Derby contest, and for giving me a few rides to & from the Gold Coast &
Joker's Wild. Thanks also goes out to Burt for organizing the racebook
crawl that he, Denny, & myself went on Friday night. We made great time,
with at least 6 minutes to spare before post time at each book we went to.

I think that about does it. If I've forgotten anything at all, please don't
hesitate to let me know.

Is it NOOVEMBER yet? (Sporgy, Nov. 7-11)

Good set of reports, Cam!

Every time I saw Cam.... he was smiling. Of course, I didn't see him on
Bloody Monday... but if there is anyone who knows how to have a good time in
Vegas, it is Cam. His enthusiasm is contagious.

I was thinking the same thing George. In fact, one day, instead of
writing a trip report, I think I'll write my perception of everyone I
met there. Cameron, don't worry, you will be one of the good guys in
my report!

Ditto for me too, he is the same person who is on AVLV.
Next time I'll fix him up with some sweet LV gal, he will fall
in love, get married and live happily the rest of his life in
Vegas.

George---

Don't you get it??? We all smile because we are around YOU. You are such a
jovial spirit you make us HAPPY.

But Cam, my wife and I were thrilled to meet you. My only regret was not
spending more time with you. You sure kept your cool when that CT guy
tried to pull something on you. I think Tom wanted to see you cry or
something.

I lost a pair of tickets for "World's Greatest Magic Show." Did you
happen to find them in your Vintage Suite?

If you like Steve Winwood, go to Amazon or Itunes and download "Other
Shore."

Thank me later.
