Recent Stay at Palazzo

Recent Stay at Palazzo

Just back from 4 nights at the Palazzo. Very nice room. I would say the
living space is superior to that of Wynn's, but the Wynn's bathrooms are
bigger and a bit nicer. The casino is not overly big, but nice high
ceilings. The blackjack conditions were fine. Although they hit soft 17,
the table minimums were reasonable and they had a number of good two deck
"pitch" tables. Ate at Table 10, excellent service and food. The portions
were a tad on the small side, but overall very nice. Morel's was also very
good. The pool situation was interesting. They have one main pool and a
bunch of small pools. Plenty of chairs and too much sun! After 1:00 pm,
the entire pool area is bathed in sun. No shade to be had. My only
complaint, outside of it taking 24 hours to get my in-suite meal stuff
cleared away, is that the elevators are so slow and hot! Other than that,
it was a very nice experience and a hotel I will definately stay at again,
especially if the casino marketing people are as generous with me as they
were this trip.

Re: Recent Stay at Palazzo

Evidentally both the Venetian and Palazzo are really hurting. Their
promotions and offers have sky-rocketed in the last year.

I found the casino at Palazzo to be utterly dull and colorless, and since
you receive credit for playing at either one, I prefer the V. The rooms
are both are identical. I especially like the DVD players, which is a new
trend in Vegas.

The high-limit lounge in the Palazzo stays on soft 17.

A poster had commented earlier that the pools at the Venetian and
Palazzo are surprisingly bland - I'd have to agree. One cool thing,
however, is the pool area in the Venezia. Rose bushes, fountains - all
very nice, especially for a late night swim.

Re: Recent Stay at Palazzo

What I liked about Palazzo and V's BJ rules is that they permit you to
play three spots at just double the minimum.

If I remember correctly, most blackjack tables at high-limit rooms
allow three spots played at the minimum. Red Rock and Caesar's - for
example - allow you to play $100 per hand on three hands, at the $100
minimum table. I believe the Rio requires triple the bet, as does Wynn.

Re: Recent Stay at Palazzo

I'm talking about every table, as long as you play double the minimum.

Does the Palazzo share pool space with the V or is it completely separate?

Re: Recent Stay at Palazzo

It is separate but you can walk to the Venetian pool from the Palazzo pools.

We found the casino boring and snooty, with no low limit tables to be
found. Seems they are happy to be overflow for the others rather than
establish an identity of their own.
