You just described electricity generated by solar and wind. <vbg>

Hey - I was going to say that.

Odd fact of the day - in Vegas (what city are we talking about?) the
nuclear testing museum is right next to a big UNLV solar power
research facility.

I agree with the nuclear, but remember we have enough coal
reserves in this country to supply our entire energy needs for
decades. I firmly believe that once the price of energy reaches
a critical level, clean burning coal plants will become
economically feasible.

Yes, "we" have untapped reserves here. However, watch the magical process
by which "our" resources suddenly become someone else's "private
property", and how quickly those people start bitching about how it's
"their oil" and "we" have no business telling them how to run "their"
business, even when their business is selling "us" "our" oil.

Not to mention that they effectively recycle their nuclear waste
instead of trying to build a Yucca Mtn project. Thank Carter for that
blunder, stopping breeder reactor technology in the US.

Yucca Mountain was designed with the removal of nuke waste when the
day comes that we could recycle it. Looks like that is now becoming
possible.

I won't even get into Carter.

I can't say this upsets me. The last time, the only time, I had
coffee at a Starbucks it was terrible, $5 and not even a refill, even
if I'd wanted it. The coffee at the snack bar at Target is better.

Problem is, my local Target has a Starbucks in the snack bar. Thank god
for Dunkin' Donuts. Starbucks tastes like it's burnt if you ask me...

I get the $2 drip, add no sugar, no milk/cream. It has the most
caffeine of any mass-market brand. I don't care about the taste,
actually I think McD's taste better but it doesn't keep me razzed for
the 4-6 hrs I need like the "Bucks does!

indeed --- and thank him for DD winding up big time in the Vegas
market!! I've now got one less than a quarter-mile from the house ---
makes for a quick run for those large iced coffees i love so much this
time of year.

Starbucks tastes like it's burnt if you ask me...

yep. that's what they do to the cheap beans they buy, then call them
"roasted". dicks.

Starbucks is way too strong for me. I drink a cup and spend the rest of
the morning on the throne. I drink seattle's best, when in vegas.

I'm with you, George. This "cafe lata hold the sugar lite cream but
scrambled low fat" crap mystifies me. Home brew is the only way to go.

Well said. Anyone know what's happening with the Dunkin Donuts expansion
plans into Vegas?

lets just say that the loss of 17 Star Bucks isn't a problem --- DD is
opening up all over the place out here --- and according to my local DD
manager the plan has accelerated and will likely expand. They're also
going gang busters down in PHX.

I know they have several stores open (inside Beltz Outlet Mall, Silverado
Ranch being 2 near me) and they are always crowded and much more expensive
than I remember them being.
