...or you could try a trash bin outside a wino bar!!! You'll probably
find four unsmoked ones and one with a few drags gone still
smoldering...

I just looked at cigarbid . com

100% shit.

Barrels of fake Cuban cigars... really just counterfeits and trademark
breaking garbage. Notice how many of the cigars are that chocolately-
shit brown? Trash-heap...

The real question is not where to buy them but why buy them at all.

When they are less than $50 for a double bundle (40) why ask for 5?

I think CI "bought them all up" and is still regretting the decision.
But then again, they only sell 5 packs of cigars people actually like.

I smoked my way through a few boxes of the Pirate's Gold some years
ago, and they were decent enough cigars. Not great, but I've paid lots
more for worse. Horrible, cheesy design on the boxes and bands, but
well made long filler cigars with typcal Honduran flavor profiles.
I've not tried them since they moved the operation to the Dominican
Republic, so it may well be a regrettable decision on CI's part.

As for the fivepacks situation, I have bought many boxes of Fuentes,
Toraños, CAOs, Hoyos, Rocky Patels etc etc through CBid over the past
several years for as much as 50% less than any advertised price from
any other cigar retailer.

Do they sell some crap? You bet. So does JR's, Holt's, Mike's and
most, if not all, other retailers. But when I can get a box of cigars
for 20-30% less than anywhere else, I know where I'll be spending my
money.

I have also smoked several boxes of these several years ago. Not
great, but not bad, either. I have smoked the Dominican version, and
they were much better when they were Honduran.

I agree with Ray. Auction sites (any of them) are a good deal IF YOU KNOW
WHAT THE ITEM IS REALLY WORTH. If you monitor them, you'll quickly see that
there are lots of folks who don't know and overpay by many times what the
item sells for at retail. For instance, many dimwits don't know that a
Montecristo cigar sold in the USA is not a Cuban cigar, and will pay $20
each for cigar they can get downtown for $6.
