Illusione Cigars Micro-Review

I'm not going to do a detailed review at the moment, only comment a
bit on what I've found out about this brand.

I posted almost a month ago with a question about these cigars.

Well, after going to visit a B&M in Houston that had them while
visiting my folks over Easter weekend, I found it to be a decent
enough cigar to inquire about actually getting them in the shop.

After a few e-mails and phone calls with Dion Gioloto, the excellent
fellow who owns the brand and the shop Fumare in Reno (I'm sure HARD
has been there?), we managed to get an account with Illusione Cigars.

The order came in today.

So far I've smoked the 68 (4x44 Petit Corona), the Cg:4 (5 1/2 by 48?
Corona), and am presently puffing on the 2, which is a 5 1/4 by 52
belicoso. All of these are Nicaraguan puros, I believe.

I've really enjoyed these thus far - they have a dark tobacco,
leather, cocoa sort of flavor that is reminiscent of Nicaraguan
tobacco, but with something more... I can't describe it. A "rougher"
taste that works with my palate. They burn very well, and are
constructed impeccably.

While I can't say that these cigars are necessarily as good a boutique
brand as, say, Tatuaje, they are certainly growing on me. This
belicoso I'm smoking is wonderful, even after 4 cigars already today.

Perhaps worth a try? I know some of you are put off by the graphics on
their website, but the cigars are good.

Tex.

TFTR, but that was by no account a "micro review". Here's a micro review:

H.Upmann Aromaticos, 1998:

LOL!

I had some of those. Mine went more like:

:-\ ;-) :-) :-o :-(

about the halfway point, it got so strong it was peeling the enamel
off of my teeth.

I only smoked my first one so far. Yeah, it did get pretty strong, but
not even close to what you describe. It went out with about a third left
and my friend left at the same time so I ditched it.

Although, I finished a RASS (yum!) just about an hour before starting
with the Upmann, and that undoubtedly had some effect on my perception
of strength.
