smoking one for Chuck

Heston, born John Charles Carter, died today at age 84.
Alzheimer's took the last few years, but before he faded he served the NRA
well and never approved of the embargo.

A truly great actor and one who put his beliefs out for all to see.
Thanks Chuck.

He was the last of his kind.

Funny how he's remembered, and ridiculed, for his support for the NRA
and the 2nd Amendment but his days as a liberal and union and civil
rights activist are all but forgotten.

Quite true. He was a protector and advocate of all civil liberties, that
is, the entire Bill of Rights, as, by the way, is the NRA. They may be
called the National RIFLE Association, but they are also fighting for your
right to unfettered political speech, i.e., against McCain-Feingold.

Rest well.
