Wednesday Evening Smoke: 7-2-08

'Evening everyone,

It's evening here in Shreveport, anyway. I'm enjoying some Kendal Plug
in a basket pipe. Iced tea on the side. (Soon to be a Rolling Rock)

I finished reading "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy the other day...a
really fantastic read, IMHO. It literally kept me on edge. I dreamed
about the storyline after reading it at night. The kid's character was
really intriguing, as well. What an author. I'll be reading more of his
books soon. For now, though, it's my first go around with Hemingway's
'Old Man and the Sea'. Halfway through and loving it already.

Have a nice night,

Casey

Evenin' Casey. It's Haddo's in the Cavicchi CC bent apple, Diet Pepsi
on the side in the small glass, Mozart on the CD player. Just finished
a terrific meal of ground sirloin patties and fresh asparagus (with
butter and salt). Were promised a terrific thunderstorm, but it never
came to pass. Well, it *did* pass; it hopped right over us! Lousy
nature. :-(

Hope all are well,
Ian

Hi Casey, Howard & ASP. Spent most of the day knocked half-unconscious
by a medication reaction. Smoked 965 in the Grenci I'm breaking at the
times I could sit upright. The pipe is coming along---tasting pretty
good. Thanks for the book recommendation, Casey. I'm always looking
for something to read. Hasve you ever read "My Angtonia" by Cather?
Happy smokes to all tonight. -- Tim in Pacifica near SF.

Hi Casey, ASP.

MacB Navy flake in a Pete Aran. I'm studying for my final tomorrow,
and I'll be glad when it gets here. This course has burned me out;
it'll be nice to get back home and spend the holiday weekend with my
kids.

Have a good one all.

Luke

Hiya Tim,

I've never red any Cather before. Recommended?

Good evening Casey and ASP,
Last pipe of the day is C & D's Haunted Bookshop in a lion head meer.
Nothing on the side. Evening meds have been administered. Today was a
tolerable day and I hope to have the same tomorrow. Hope all is well with
all of you.

Rick

Evening Casey and all. Ah, another Cormac McCarthy convert. You'll enjoy his
others too, Casey. Totally different, but still great.

Continuing the Grand Oriental tour from this AM, it's now Smyrna #1 in the
Tilshead bulldog. Wish I had the other tins from this group; well, we'll all be
reunited soon, I hope.

Diet Pepsi MAX on the side. Damn, I'm pouring liquids into me like an irrigation
project in the Atacama!

Bob

Just your basic flake, and official Old Fart!
