California Fires

Maybe when we light up a bowlful today lets think about the hundreds
and hundreds of firefighters here in California.

They are working round the clock to save homes and trying to control
these huge fires. Some have been on the fire lines for weeks without
a break.

I honor them for their efforts on our behalf.

Well said, Neil. And seconded. What a thankless job and incredible
performance.

I'll "third" it. Stepson/family in Temecula, CA...haven't heard from
him so assume fires are elsewhere. Whatever...at least one lg. bowl of
something to salute these brave warriors.

Amen, Neil. As I have a cabin in the Sierra, I always sweat the fire
season here in CA. Actually some of the worst ones lately in the Coast
Range have been closer to home. My son just checked in from the cabin
and reported all's well. whew! he reported that there is no snow left,
which is unusual at that elevation (6950'). Must be Gorebal warming
<g>.

I guess all we can do is cross our fingers and hope those lads (and
lassies?) get some respite from these fires.

Amen to that sentiment. Too bad we couldn't have redirected all the
water that recently fell on the Midwest!
