Can you EverClear a cob pipe?

Good Morning ASP. I recently got a real tall Missouri Meerschaum cob
pipe estate. I'm not getting much flavor, and I am wondering if I can
ream off the cake and soak the chamber with EverClear as I do with my
briar estate pipes. The pipe is hard as rock, so I think it was soaked
in some type of plaster or hardening agent. Thanks Guys.

Ream the cake but do not use alcohol. The bowl interior was
coated with plaster of Paris, and alcohol would not be good
for that.

Taste problems generally are in the shank, though, so scrubbing
the interior of the shank and mouthpiece with an alcohol-wet pipe
cleaner would seem a good idea. Then smoke the pipe with your
favorite flavorful tobacco to season the thing, and all should
do find.

Cheers!
