Father's Day Pipe

Just got one of my Father's Day gift from one of my sons courtesy of
Frenchy. He got me a Freehand Corn Cob.
I've been wearing my cobs a lot w/this hot weather so I told my son
what I wanted and it finally came. Haven't broken it in yet. I've been
smoking tons of Carter Hall and Walgreen's Golden Burley mixed 50/50
I've forgotten what english and Virginia and Aromatics tastes like.
It's a very econ,ekon..cheap smoke at about a dollar and some change
an ounce. Got the recipe off another site. The blender calls it Moe's
Confetti. Haven't been here for a while, been summer giging w/Gladys
Knight & my own Big Band plus working with rec centser kids teaching
them how to play & keeping them off the streets. Finishing up my man
cave basement so I can be the Phantom of the Basement during these hot
summer days. It's good to be back!!!!

Re: Father's Day Pipe

I forgot my Peterson last Thursday and went off to work without it.
Lunch time came around and I usually have a smoke break after a quick
bite to eat. So, I went down to CVS where I was figuring to buy an
inexpensive Dr. Grabow. Well, they were all out of them and what was
left but some corn cobs. So, I bought one and filled it with some
Nightcap that I had in my pocket. Well, the compliments that I got
while I was out smoking that cob were too many to count...not that I
can count but I have very rarely had as many uplifting remarks about
the pipes I smoke. One young man said to his friends "That man's a
genious he smokes a pipe"....little did he know I scored 145 on the IQ
test in high school...and I misspell hominems so often that there is
no spell checker that can hold me.

Cobs are the best as an intro pipe, as a knock around pipe and to
smoke the finest tobacco's...You just can't top a cob...mine is a
"General" straight shanked...but the one I smoked in work was just a
small bowled straight shanked filtered Missouri Meer...Great smoke,
Great Pipe!

Re: Father's Day Pipe

I think all Americans should smoke Cobs on the Fourth of July.
Nothing against briars (I have a full collection), but Cobs are an
American invention to be proud of. They are a great value, smoke very
well, and not fussy to own and use.
