OT: Firefox Users

Here's a great add-on for Firefox 3. That's one impressive browser
indeed.

Adblock Plus and NoScript are my favorite Firefox add-ons.

I know just what you mean. The only thing I ever use IE for these days
is Windows Update!

Just FYI, that functionality comes with Firefox 3, and it A PAIN IN THE
ASS!!! If you tell it to ignore, it ignores *that* page, amd continues
to warn about every other page on the site. I find the functionality
annoying, and have disabled it.

Your mileage may vary. I use a Mac, and am not vulnerable to the grand
majority of bullcrap out on the Internet.

And, Conspiracy theorism aside, it seems awfully easy to kill a
competitor's business by reporting them as distributing malware, since
Firefoc doesn't actually check or vet the reports.

It's not installed here, by default or otherwise. And I'm with you on
the not so vulnerable part, using Linux, but when it comes to the
sites this is trying to block, no OS can prevent it. The intent is to
block sites trying to scam folks... Not for viruses...

Still, all that takes is common sense, not browser plugins with dodgy
rating systems.

Me too! I hate stuff that slows down my PC. I also have my AV
software's "link scanner" service disabled. I'm my own link scanner and
scam sniffer-outer, if you know what I mean. Why must software makers
treat *all* of us as if we just fell off the turnip truck yesterday ? ;-)

There are at least a hundred major holes in Mac OS-X. That's not nearly
as many as there are in any version of MS Windows, but it's only
sensible to keep your OS updated.

I've keep all reporting features disabled in all my software. YMMV
