[OT] A Sad Nite

[OT] A Sad Nite

In this life we never have enough good friends..Tonight as I'm
mourning the fact that one my best friends for over 50 years has lost
his fight against cancer. He was only 66 years old.Over the years he
made me laugh more times than is possible for me to remember. He didn't
smoke a pipe, but he truly was one of the good guys.I'm glad that I
told him before it was too late how much I have appreciated his
friendship,I will remember him always.Sometimes life just seems harder
than it should be.

Short indeed and usually unfair.

I'm not a religious kind of guy, but I've come to think that it's not
impossible that you might see your friend again. My sympathies for the
grief and emptiness this must bring you. -- Tim

Be thankful for any family or friends you have remaining - I've no
family left at all save for a few distant cousins in parts unknown and,
as my health declined and particularly after I lost my legs, my friends
seemed to want to have little to nothing to do with me. I'm not trying
to say that I'm worse off, I'm just praying that you do have some
family or friends left for whom you can be thankful.

My condolences Larry. Cancer sucks like a five buck street walker on
payday. A bowl to him, and a bumper down the hatch tonight.

Larry;

Take comfort in the fact that you were truly blessed. He will live on
in your memories and also in those who he knew. My sincerest
