This week, The Piperack has 10 beautiful Cavicchis to choose from. Claudio
Cavicchi has been producing pipes professionally since 1985 and now produces
around 1200 pipes per year. Claudio's pipes are impeccably engineered,
feature stellar grain irrespective of price and smoke great! From the rustic
line to the high-grade 4C and 5C, every pipe is top-notch in all respects.
You simply cannot find a better deal from Italy today! Check out the awesome
2C bent freehand brandy, with grain as good as a 3C, or the cool 3C smooth
chubby Lovat - beautiful pipes, all, and you won't find a better pipe at
this price, guaranteed! In addition, there are a few lower grade smooths, a
nice 1C Rustic billiard, and many others to choose from. Check them out and
see why, for the money, there isn't a better pipe coming out of Italy today!
This week, The Piperack has a small but distinguished selection of estates
to choose from, including our Piperack Pick this week! This week's Piperack
Pick goes to the Mark Tinsky 2002 Christmas Pipe. Mark Tinsky has to be my
favorite US pipemaker because he offers the perfect balance between quality
and price for his customer base, and he knows exactly what makes his
customers happy. He has been creating unique, well-crafted pipes under the
"American Smoking Pipes" brand for nearly 30 years now. Mark utilises only
the finest hand selected Grecian Plateau briar and each pipe is fitted with
comfortable black Italian Lucite stems, which Mark has had made to his
specifications. Considering the cost of materials and time involved to hand
make these "Made in the U.S.A." pieces, they are a true bargain compared to
many higher priced pipes coming out of Europe. This particular piece is a
beautiful 2002 Tinsky Christmas pipe. The shape is a 1/4 bent poker sitter,
and the finish/grade is a Natural 1 Star. The pipe is near mint and is sure
to be a great smoker. Check out the additional photos to see the fantastic
grain! Rated 9.75 out of 10, this pipe is sure to go quickly. Prefer Ashtons
and Dunhills? Well, we have a pair of Dunhills (including a nice 1978 Shell
Billiard with AD silver and a minty 2001 Bruyere), a GORGEOUS Ashton
Sovereign that should have been a Straightgrain 3, and a pair of Petersons.
From Denmark there is an older Ben Wade Matt Original Freehand, and there's
even a cool old Marxman Jumbo with exquisite carving from yesteryear.
Don't miss the Peter Hedegaard blasted bent apple, or the beautiful unsmoked
Cavicchi 4C Bent billiard/egg! Next update comes July 11 with more great
pipes!
