Tobacco smokers are second-class citizens? Guess again.

Tobacco smokers are second-class citizens? Guess again.

In July, the Dutch government will introduce a nationwide smoking ban
in bars, cafes and restaurants, aimed at protecting workers. But it
will also make life a lot harder for the country's infamous coffee
shops, where customers will only be allowed to smoke pure cannabis.

>Oh, dear God, when will this lunacy end?

That's something, isn't it?

The thing about cannabis is that it actually does something.

Nicotine does nothing but raise the pulse rate slightly
and cause you to take more of it.

Apparently the Dutch understand that.

Must be some smart people.

That is good, everyone knows that pot has no ill effects on lung tissue...

Is it just me or is the world being run by Jocks and Cheerleaders from the
9th grade?

Nah, most of the cheerleaders smoke.

It's run by people who realize tobacco smoke is poison and
should be eliminated from the air.

Except theres probably more carcinogens in car exhaust than in a cigarette,
and there's probably more of a danger from chemicals found in plastics and
such that end up in our food and water every day

Not sure I would say that, but its still totally irrelevent. Just because
there are other problems in the world doesn't mean we shouldn't address
those that do have a solution. You do what you can to fix what you can. Some
people are working on plastics, some people are working on auto pollution
and some are trying to eliminate public smoking. Everybody can't all do
everything.

And some people are trying to establish themselves as the most

coming up fast.

Very astute observation, Numb-One, very astute. Would the converse of
that be, 'everything can't be done by everybody'? Damn, NumbNorm, you
are so deep!! LOL!

Smokers don't think that way. They furiously defend their
drug. Don't stand between them and their fix. Addicts
become maniacal.

If he had said car exhaust from a 50s or 60s car, he would
certainly be right. Today's cars? They are one hell of lot
cleaner.

Hell, those Japanese suicide groups are using charcoal in
a hibachi on the floor of the car. Apparently, car exhaust
no longer has enough CO to kill.

If those reports of decreases in admissions for heart
attacks following smoking bans turn out to be real,
smokers in public will be arrested and charged with
attempted murder.

Pipe tobacco and Cigar tobacco doesn't contain these chemicals.
Neither does RYO tobacco. Why aren't you trying to ban chemical
additives instead of the tobacco itself? Chemical additives in food
can cause all sorts of health problems as wel but you wouldn't
advocate banning strawberries because someone decided to spray a
chemical preservative on them that causes cancer, would you?
