Another fire

Another fire

About two hours ago, on my way home from work, I stopped by a sprawling
new strip mall near where I live just to look around. About half the
stores there are still under construction.

As I walked past a corner store that was still being built, I noticed
the odor of burning wood. I continued to walk toward the far end of the
mall. When I approached that area later, a garden area was smoldering
quite noticably. The soil consisted of a dark brown wood material and on
the one side, it was obviously smoldering.

I looked around, but I didn't see anyone. I couldn't help but notice
several cigarette butts that were tossed in that garden area right where
the smoke was. It sure looked like the result of another carelessly
disgarded cigarette butt to me.

So I went into the nearest occupied store and I reported the problem to
one of the employees. I said he should call security of a maintenance
person and simply turn on the garden's sprinkler system in order to
extinguish the fire.

I am sure many of you nicotine addicts take great care when you finish
your cancer sticks to dispose of them safely. For those of you who are
not careful, you should be. You need to completely extinguish your
cancer sticks before you throw them away; otherwise, a devastating fire
could occur.

The smokers must have been scofflaws from Pennsylvania. New Jersey's Fire Safe Cigarette
law kicked in June 1.

When you see someone smoking there, or anywhere, demand to inspect their pack. If it
doesn't say FSC, it's CONTRABAND. Call 911 and try to hold them until police arrive.
Arson is a felony. So is the battery you'll recieve.

Is that a threat, asswipe?

You seem to have forgotten your obligation to address and refer to us
as the Anti Smoker Illuminati (ASI). Learn some respect, asswipe.

I'm not sure about the specifics of this law, but I'm pretty sure it
does not give you the right to search other private citizens even if
they are in violation of the law.

If you asked me to look at my cigarettes, I'd rightly tell you to fuck off.

That's a good question. It is illegal to sell anything but
Reduced Ignition Propensity (RIP) cigarettes in New Jersey,
but is it illegal to possess them?

I'm guessing not.

It is legal to possess them. The law controls only what can be sold.

There was no question in my post. You are a fucking idiot.

I doubt it, but you're the one harping on this issue so why don't you
make use of yourself for once and bring us some facts?

Even if it were illegal to possess them, you have advocated stripping
people of their 4th Amendment rights against unreasonable search and
seizure.

So you can fuck off.

You guess a lot, but you're not saying much.

Geez, that,s quite a few fires for you.
just had one recently in your building too,
They' ve got k00ks like you all over the country.
Seems like they all have had cigarette butts
around them....

Probably the downturn in business led the builder
to take an easy way out of a great financial loss.

Just like starbucks closing 600 stores announcement today.
Yea the smoking money 's up in smoke, soon you feel a great
tax burden like never in your life.

The make up money is going to come from somewhere.
Just get ready to pay.

Yes, most of us DO take great care to dispose of our cigarettes properly.

Why are you obsessed with us?

Is a fire started by a careless camper somehow less dangerous?

Is litter left by an inconsiderate non-smoker somehow less onerous?
