Yesterday I went to get some beer, <I've been here alone for a week
except for a pervert dog and decided to party a bit not having had a
beer in months>
I had to show an id for the beer.
Got the cigarettes and again had to show an id.
Went to buy an allergy drug with sudafed, had to take a cardboard
ticket to the counter because this over the counter drug can no longer
be put on the shelves and again had to show an id.
Took the medication and I guess because of the sudafed <I have a very
weird chemical makeup> and an hour later I was crawling up the walls
pissed at the world.
But I will smoke as long as I don't blow it on somebody else and if
they ban the things outright this formerly law abiding citizen will
have to find a source out of spite.
Can't do a damned thing anymore without bumping into the freaking
government and laws passed by self righteous do-gooders.

Of course there is. Do we (Americans) live in a society where
"that which is not permitted is forbidden" or in a society
where "that which is not forbidden is allowed." Just because
something doesn't appear in the Bill of Rights, doesn't
mean we don't have it as a right. There's all sorts of
odd things I could do in my front yard simply because it
pleases me to do so. As long as I'm fully clothed and
not watering the street, I'm completely within my rights.

Oh, don't expect panty boy to play fair and not distract from
the issue. Long ago he realized he was intellectually out of
his league in adult society, so he can do nothing but resort
to playground nonsense.

Nevertheless, second-hand smoke is no more dangerous
than hard-boiled eggs.

Civilization.

I'm not arguing. I can't win. The drug always wins.

I'm warning. Smokers have found fewer and fewer places to fix.
That will continue. It will include the outdoors. Get used to
it. Don't blame me if it comes as a surprise.

The big problem with these people is that they turn smoking into a moral
issue, and that is how they justify their rude and childish behavior.
It's amazing how everyone is suddenly an expert on etiquette when the
issue is one that makes them feel smug.

It really is amazing the depths of denial that these pathetic tobacco-sucking
addicts will go to in an vain attempt to justify their wretched behavior.

As a cigar smoker and a practising atheist, I do believe ... in human
behaviour. Having successfully set up and refined a whole raft of moral and
other arguments (notably "public health") it is simply inevitable that the
very same techniques will now be extended to a range of other activities and
pleasures, many of which are currently enjoyed by the anti-smoking crowd.
It is already beginning with food (fat, salt, sugar, additives!), and I can
see a very good case for alcohol and even sports. It fills me with no
little glee to anticipate how these self-righteous twits will scream and
howl as their own pastimes and pleasures come under scrutiny and censure.
"But this is completely different, " they will wail ... but in the end, they
will face the exact same fate as the smoker. Cosmic karma in action. It's
enough to make me feel quite smug.

No. Persecution by those of you who lead different lives and proclaim they
are right and we are wrong. If you wish to avoid our eventual demise,
avoid us. It's that simple.

I protect my family and acquaintences from my own second-hand smoke. I
don't smoke in the car. I don't smoke in ANY building, including my own
house. Outside, the smoke dissipates. If you can smell tobacco smoke,
it's a clear indicator that there is a smoker present, well within his or
her right to smoke outside. It's up to you to clear the area because we
have rights as human beings just as you have the right to vomit im public
when you feel sick and can't get to the nearest toilet in time. Some of
you non-smokers don't even seem to mind farting in public, maybe because
you don't think you'll get caught. But you do it anyway because you
ultimately don't give a shit about others, which you seem to think is the
attitude of most smokers. So fuck off, hypocrite.

It's up to the smoker to clear the area. You're the one
putting poison in the air. Sorry about that. I don't
make the rules. You've been warned.

Smoking around people who don't like it is just plain rude. Rather
like farting when people can't move away.

And in some cases it could even kill them if they are asthmatic or
have other lung problems.

My niece was asthmatic and needed inhalers. Funny how it stopped when
she left home and wasn't exposed my sister's second hand smoke.

Operative word being "can't".

I have no problem with reasonable restrictions, and I certainly do not wish
to smoke around people who don't like it. Cigars are just too damn
expensive to waste on a bad ambience.

What does rile me is the unreasonable attitude of some folk. A cigar shop
or cigar bar is a place, clearly sign-posted, for the purchase and
consumption of cigars. There is really no possible misunderstanding here,
and people who do not like smoke are perfectly free not to enter. Nor can I
understand the attitude of the Conspicuous Cougher and the Stage Whisper
Commentator when I stand 50 yards downwind on a breezy beach.

Hypocritically, many of those people seem to have no problem with "romantic"
open fireplaces, barbecue grills or patchouli-scented incense ... all of
which is just as carcinogenic as tobacco.

Well, you and your repugnant ilk fucked yourselves in the ass with
your beliggerant offensive public behavior for soooo long that
civilized society has finally decided to REVOKE the privelege you abused
for so long in so many places. From now on, you tobacco-sucking
maggots will only suck where and when we tell you to. You've long
ago worn out your welcome in polite society.

Got it, loser?

Well moron, 50 yards obviously isn't far enough. Next time try 100 yards out
into
the ocean ... and a few yards under it.

You're lying again you repugnant piece of crap.

And do try and grasp the cold hard fact that this isn't about *you*,
no one gives a flying fuck about *your* health or *your* pleasure, addict.

Is that clear?

Apparently you don't know anything about cigars. The hand-rolled cigars
are generally enjoyed on occasion, whereas the cheap machine-made cigars
such as Dutch Master as well as Black & Mild (which is closer to a
cigarette) are smoked for the nicotine. BTW, when you enter a *cigar*
bar, expect to find people enjoying a fine cigar.

Please, cite your sources stating second hand smoke is toxic. Other
than statistics, second hand smoke has not been proven to cause any
harm. Until there is hard evidence to link second hand smoke to health
problems, it would be best to allow for the businesses to decide on
their own just as they have been for the past 15 years. I hope you do
have the intelligence to know what businesses allow smoking and what
businesses are smoke free.
