OT A little help with needed OE please

I use Outlook Express for both mail and news, and I want to open website
links in Firefox rather than Internet Explorer or Avant (which is basically
a front end for IE). This is because a lot of viruses might to be getting in
through IE. Can anyone tell me how to do it? - I've tried some of the
obvious things through the Control Panel, but without success so far.

Thanks,

Tony D

I don't think you can force Outlook Express to use an alternative browser.
OE will always use the default browser though. Make Firefox the default
browser and it should work.

Thanks for the replies, a minor adjustment to Firefox fixed it.

Firefox has to be your default browser. Also you could look for a MIME
type setting URL for Firefox somewhere. I'm not on a Windows box right now
so I can't tell you exactly but I have done it.

If FF is your default browser, it just happens. Outlook Ex doesn't know
what browser it's opening AFAIK.

Thanks, it was just a small thing I had wrong in the set up. Works fine now
as far as I can tell, and seems to be solving the virus problem.
