here's pic of my little tone monster rig ;)

I normally use a lot of different pedals -
but it's really cool just to plug in to my Deluxe Reverb
and just play straight into the amp.
To me it really doesn't get much better.
It's a Silverface from the early 80's (given to me),
and then it was Blackfaced for me. Really sweet amp.
The only other thing I did was to take out the original
Jensen speaker (because when I really cranked it up the
original speaker started to fizz out) so I replaced it
with an Eminence Texas Heat. It can get really loud now
although like most DR's most of the volume comes on by #4-5
on the volume knob and after that it's just a matter of how
much tube saturation you want. I think I could actually take
this to band practices or play small gigs with this.
Anyways - forget about volume levels - the tones from this
are amazingly good from such a small wattage amp. This has to
be my favorite all time amp I've ever had or played through.
Yeah - my Mesa Mark III is the workhorse -
but this DR is well... really special to me.

Here's a pic I took of my mini-rig:

(I never really shared any pics of it - so there it is)

Nice Squier. Stuff like that is pretty rare over here. Sigh. Never
underestimate the power of a little amp either. I'm thinking of dragging
the Epi VJ along for rehearsal today. Because the rhythm player is on
holiday. I shouldn't have too much trouble trying to keep up;-)

that's a nice portable rig there with the Epi Jr and the 1x12 cab
(at least it looks like a 12 inch speaker ?)
very cool. what speaker is in there ?

And I recognized most of the pedals on the pedal board
but what is that blue pedal all the way on the left ?
anyways - that's a solid set of pedals. good stuff
and lots of Boss - they never break or have any problems!

Thanks for sharing the pic. nice!

Yup, 12" Lorantz Greenback clone. Sweeeeeeeet. I have sprayed the cab
and put a grill cover on it too. Always something to do....

Ibanez DL-10 digital delay. Hell of a pedal, not going to part with that
one. The CS-3 has gone now in favour of a CS-2 (thanks to Andy). The EQ
pedal on the table is a 1970's Vorg (by Pearl) I use it as a treble boost.

Too true, none of those pedals have ever given an ounce of grief except
the Tokai Phaser - Switch is on the way out. Thing of an Phase 90 or a
Small stone anyway. I have original boxes and receipts for most of that
stuff.

Always a pleasure;-) Was up last night, as the wife was out, rewiring
the 50's. Installed cloth wire and an orange drop. Restringing before
she gets home an notices the soldering iron;-) I put the SD Vintage 57's
in it too. Ha, 50's.

If you ever get bored of that Fender amp, send her over here;-)

Re: here's pic of my little tone monster rig ;)

Actually Mark a Deluxe Reverb isnt all that small. They give 20 watts out of
a pair of 6V6"s running at the point of melt down.. Its a dual channel amp
with a 1x12" speaker. Unless you're playing with The Fabulous Pecker Necks
for a band? 20 watts should be enough volume for the average sized indoor
bar gig.

Didn't realise it was that big. I'm gonna submit that idea for a band
name tho, its great;-)

Seriously, they play "average sized indoor gigs"? I thought
they didn't get outta bed for less than ... ten mill or
something.

A pair of 6V6 is quite loud, or can be.

Yeah. 85 watt Twin on 11. Ouch.

They wouldnt disagree if they were playing in the same sized room that I
described. Instead of instantly thinking " I'd better disagree and try to
seem like I know something" maybe you should pay attention and save yourself
20 years of sounding like holy hell ?

You need more pedals, and knobs,
dozen wall warts, and dozen short cables
curled up in a mess.

You will never find tone heaven
on such a girly-man toy box.

You do get a passing grade for having tubes though ;-).
