Tuning Amps

I'm new to guitar playing and have a lot to learn. I have a Jat Turser
Classic 6 string electric guitar and amp. Is there an on line source
for tuning amps?
I'm trying to get that distorted rock sound.

Go to a local music store, find a decent salesmen to help just try some
pedals if you can use an amp like yours. Also I think "tuning an amp" is the
wrong description. "looking for a certain sound" would be a better way of
saying it. If you have more question just ask there plenty of good advice
hear. MOST people will be pretty helpful , we've all been beginners at one
time. A question for you are you taking lesson ? if not you should.

If (like me) you are not knowlegable about electronics, (and maybe if you
are) the best route might be to get a suitable pedal to produce the sound
you are looking for.

There's all sorts that will produce anything from a moderate overdrive to
an 'orrible fuzzy noise - you could try out a range at your friendly local
guitar shop. Having said all that, a lot of people are dedicated to the
overdrive/distortion produced by a valve amplifier, and that has many
flavours too.

Is there a particular guitar sound on a particular song that you could
specify?

All the best,

Re: Tuning Amps

How to tune to Jimi Hendrix.
1. Buy 1 1959 Marshall Plexi full stack
2. Buy 1 Fender American made Stratocaster
3. Turn everything to 10 and play your favorite hendrix tune

Re: Tuning Amps

The classic overdriven rock sound has been worked to death. You wont even
hear a rock song anymore without it. It sounds like shit to me. Everybody
see's then thinks with tunnel vision. Personally I like the sound of an
electric guitar through a clean sounding Fender Blackface Amp..
