Buckethead video

I just dug up this Buckethead video for Lobotomizer that I made a few
years ago. I tried to get a DVD to him, but never heard if he saw
it. Thought it might be appreciated in these here parts, though.
Enjoy!

Thanks I thought it was just me. I even tried about 4 others out and
they all sounded sort of the same and equally awful

Buckethead is a supreme technician. Definitely not a song writer.
Al DiMeola could also be in this camp although he can actually
use a much more diverse variety of techniques to play many more
types of music than Buckhead. And every once in a while Al actually
gets some soul and can write (and obviously play) great songs.

But it's all about technical skills rather than writing anything
even remotely considered a well constructed song.

Some people say that writing songs is overrated and to them it really
is all about endless technical jamming. In fact if you even start to
tap your feet to a song then its considered pop schlock.

I'm not in this particular camp - but technical mastery is something
to be respected even though it might not be something you would purchase
or play yourself. And some people would say such technical masters
are in a sense, displaying their egos because their heads are too swelled
to actually fit within the context of a airplay freindly song. (although
apparently Buckethead's mask gimic seems to work well by saying "hey - it's
about the music and the audience doesn't need to put a face to it.. blah blah)
Hey - if trick or treat is your thing then that's cool. Boo! heh.

I dunno - I don't make too many judgements on all this -
to each his or her own I suppose. At least to me it's a kind
of sideshow you would go to rather than any sort of act happening
in the main ring(s). But still, it's all within the same circus grounds
known as music.

peace out.

Amen, brother.

Buckethead is a damn freakshow and that's exactly what he wants, so he is
successful as hell.

Plus, there's no way some of the stuff he does on guitar can be done, yet he
does it...and is able to repeat it.

He is fargin' amazing...if I had his technical skill I would be the biggest
name in rock.

Peace,
Polfus

You know I love KFC and that is what I always see him wearing. A KFC bucket
and I guess I am just jealous of how he has so much KFC and I don't.

Guess it is just KFC envy mostly.

I've heard some other things from Buckethead that were much more
melodic and really interesting. I think he's not just a shredder, and
this industrial-type stuff is yet another style that I've never heard
from him before. I don't really appreciate his persona and gimmick, but
I think he can play a bunch of styles very well.

Holyshithatscoolashell.

I swear I wish I could lay claim to coming up with something so farging
killer....and I mean the music.

The visuals..wow...that should have won an award of some type. Brilliant.

Perfect video for him....THANK YOU for that, Les.

And here..this one sounds ten times better, so check it out:

And he is rather large, by the way:

I really like his music and playing...and when he actually goes ahead and
rocks out, he is killer.
