Are Prices Coming Down?

I haven't been watching real closely at guitar prices at Ebay but I just did
a quick search and it seems they have come down.............The 2 guitars
I'm judging this by are a Gibson Les Paul Standard and an American made
Fender Strat. I had been looking for another Strat but stopped a while back
when I couldn't find what I wanted for under $1000. I may also consider a
Standard Les Paul if I can get one for $1000-1200. Also, there are 226
strats for sale. That sure seems like a low number from what I remember a
few years back.

I think to the economic conditions the rising cost of fuel, food and most
consumer products' people aren't spending like they use to. Most stuff on
E-bay has been overpriced for a while now so maybe it's time to get
realistic with pricing used stuff.

The 1 thing I am fairly sure you won't see come down are the prices on
Rickenbacker guitars. Two years ago I purchased a Ric 360-6 at Sam
Ash in Indianapolis for around $1240 with tax ( I remember being
suprised at the price because I thought it would be much more
expensive). I checked MF today and the retail price is $2250 for the
SAME guitar ( $1000 increase in 2.5 yrs) When the retail price goes up
so does resale value

I bought a 360/12 new in 2002 for $19K Cdn. I just traded it in on a
CS-336 and the dealer gave me $18K for it. I thought not too bad,
$20/yr rent. Dealer tells me a new one is $27K Cdn.
