I'll be ditching the chrome knobs, but the Pearloid should set off the
Ocean Turquoise Strat just nicely. Now I just have to hurry up and wait.
AH well if its more that 2 weeks I'll be surprised.

After looking at the other Australian guitar parts
prices . it s a wonder that anybody down there besides the filthy rich can
afford to even own a guitar.

And the shrewd... Tho Asian imports over here aren't too bad, still not
as cheap as the US. I don't know what a Squier affinity cost over your
side of the Pacific but I got one brand new for $260au. Funny, that's
about what I paid for the EMG's;-)

are you comfortably numb after your purchase ?
hey - now you visit the dark side of the moon in style! heh.
that's a cool setup Mark. nice!

and you know what - actually those bigger raised knobs
you might like better than the usual low profile
top hat strat knobs. Lots easier to reach down
and roll on/off volume tone etc.
They look like Tele type knobs which I like
a lot better than standard strat knobs. Much easier
Much more functional than those
dinky little strat knobs. I'd leave them on there.

ok - well - that's definitely a cool pickguard setup.
hope it gets there to you quickly because 'the waiting is the hardest part.
(ok I'm just full of song cliches today)

Tomorrow is Mom's Day here in US so I think
we are chipping in together to get her a new
mouthpiece for her clarinet. (clarinet players
basically view the mouthpiece as a custom thing).
Anyways - a good mouthpiece (aside from reeds) can
easily run $200++. (and I don't even want to mention
how much a good clarinet costs - it makes $1000 MIA Fender
seem really cheap to buy).

ok - sorry there - I got off the track.

Anyways - let us know when it arrives
and we gotta see some pics when it gets installed!

Too much bling, bling..... Actually need some of those for the Yamaha I
just refretted tho;-)

Too true. Never quick enough. This guitar has taken me about 1 year to
build. Mostly deciding what I want and changing as I go along. It is a
Mark Bedingfield Signature Strat, thru and thru;-)

One good thing about playing a VERY common instrument;-) Supply/demand
is in our favour.

Its Mums day here too, gotta pick the wife up from the airport. I've
been home alone for 5 days whilst the missus is off in the NT. Sprogs
are chaffing at the bit.

Re: Bought EMG DG20's

Get yourself one of these and have it ready:

* w w w .radioshack . com /product/index.jsp?productId 62220&cp=&sr=1&origkw=9v+battery+clip&kw=9v+battery+clip&parentPage=search

The method EMG uses for the battery sucks IMHO. Wrapping it with foam and
stuffing it into the cavity. It puts too much pressure on the pots IMHO.

I've got one of these to install the next time I change the strings.

Re: Bought EMG DG20's

Oh, and I only mention this because I've done dumb-ass stuff like this
before :), I would not use a screw. I plan to use that industrial type
double-stick tape to mount mine.

If you use a screw through the hole as design, who knows where the pointy
end will end up sticking out of LOL
