On Filtering

Good God..,it Rox.

If we each and all used them-

Stupid, meaningless, bandwidth-wasting flame wars would insta-evaporate.

Here's to the sound of one hand clapping :-) mvm

And if you would stop changing your nyms the filters would work as we had
intended them.

Nice one Narc .Let me see if I got this right: If only we used the
greatest multi-directionmass communication system ever devised to
RESTRICT communication, all would be well. Does that about sum it up
for you?
Try this: If only you would restrict your vicious, humorless, self-
indulgent cut and paste screeds to an audience that appreciates them,
dozens of daily flame-bait troll postings might go unremarked. Here's
a thought, dumbass, filter yourself first. It's called being a grown
up. Sheesh.

Ignore. Very useful skill... cheap to implement, always at hand.
Has the added advantage that it is *exactly* what the subject
doesn't want.

Just Go To The Next Post... don't feed it, unless you like playing
with it.

Sounds more like irony to me.

Some kind of record there. I just looked at my filter list ... almost all
the same guy with different names.

Excellent. I just helped RichCL out of my vision (I've no idea how I
missed that one earlier), please allow me to reciprocate, rather than
flame you. Point proven. :-)

So, do you have to do a new kill filter list every time you rename yourself?

The real fun starts when his socks start flaming each other because he's
forgotten which aliases are which. After all, someone crazy enough to
change screen names to repeatedly announce he doesn't see anyone else's
posts in a flame war he's responsible for is certainly crazy enough to
forget which phony names belong to him. Oh well, every group needs a
certifiable nutcase, and Mulay is crazy enough for several groups as he's
been demonstrating lately.

I waiting to see what the latest nym character means, according to
Narc. Probably the same sort of stupid shit as a wannabee gang-banger
with the Mandarin character for 'love' dug into his prison-buffed
bicep.

Whatever form it takes, you can be assured it will be yet another display of
sophmoric desperation, pompous and whiny at the same time, pretentious and
yet pleading. Marc's grand gestures never last, we've seen him leave a.g.a.
swearing never to return (over and over), we've seen him swear never again
to respond to his tormentors (over and over), we've seen him swear to post
only on-topic in future (over and over). He could no more do without this
fantasy life than he could stop breathing. Hell, I've ignored his raving
for months, even kept him in a (real) killfile most of the time. Of course
I'd see these huge threads going past where people in multiple groups were
raking him over the coals for stealing the music of real musicians, and he'd
still find an excuse to drop my name when I hadn't so much as glanced his
way. The guy is an outright psycho, a compulsive liar, a fraud and a thief.
The very fact that he's cycling through screen names at the rate of at least
one a day tells us what we should think of his supposed killfile. Same old
story, same old crazy Mulay, it's like a bad sitcom that will be in re-runs
forever.

Somehow I manage to slog my way through seven other NGs without KFing
anyone (well, almost). AGA is a different story. Mulay's not the only
one.

I've only used a handful of killfile entries in all the other groups I've
read over the years, but a.g.a. has a whole stack of entries. Mulay is the
first ko0K I can recall who has managed to pollute multiple groups
apparently on the basis of his success in becoming so reviled in a.g.a.
That he gets the same reaction wherever he goes would seem to justify his
reputation here. Somebody years ago referred to an ad Mulay placed looking
for players to jam with, one can only imagine how that went: "Dude, I'm not
kidding, this guy said he wanted to jam but he had a backing track.
Seriously, he played over a tape of somebody's album and he acted like we
were supposed to think it was all him. Most bogus thing I've ever heard
man, and then he wanted to lecture us about politics and philosophy and
shit. Man, I went to the bathroom and called my old lady and told her to
phone me in five minutes and say I had to get home right away, that's one
jam session I will never show up for again!" ;~)
