Pedalboard rebuild

Dammit,

Seeing as I've just gotten the new phaser, Im going to have to rebuild
the dang pedalboard. I have a bit of a quandry though - to buy a new
one that includes mounts for the Voodoo Lab power unit or persist with
the existing one and chock it up so I can mount the power supply under
the board? I hate how pedalboards really arent big enough for my
requirements and I wouldn't even know where to turn to get one built
specifically.

Ditch the big honkin' brick and go with a Visual Sound 1 Spot AC
adapter. It handles up to 1700 mA and costs only $20 plus another $13
for an 8-plug daisy chain adapter at Sweetwater. You'll have more
room on your pedalboard just by switching to that.

Yeah that's a good PSU, and cheep. I also use one, as does our other
axeman.

I'll cast another vote for the One-Spot. You may need to spend a few
more bucks on 1/8 adapters for your EH pedals (if they have the old-
style power jacks). But even so, it's worth it.

I have both the PPII and the 1-Spot.

The 1-Spot is fine for a single row of pedals. But that whole daisy
chain thing is such a pain to weave through your pedals and cables on
a crowded board.

Vampy,
Short term: Put some velcro on the top of your PPII, and put a pedal
there.

Long term: Look toward a pedalboard with a raised back level that is
high enough to place your PPII underneath it. Here's an example:

A friend of mine made me a homemade version, but I think it might be
too plywoody for prime time. I haven't finished rebuilding my pedal
array on it yet (I've been using my smaller backup board -with a VS 1-
Spot- while I sort it all out). I might just ditch the homemade
contraption and go with something factory-made.

Ok,

I've sorted it. I went to the local hardware late night shoppe and got
me some large rubber screw in furniture feet to raise the back end just
over 2cm (just under an inch). Also got some hook n loop velcro to
attach the PPII underneath the board. It works... just.

I am really looking toward the Pedaltrain Pro (large one) in the
softcase as it is made to fit the PPII underneath. It's reinforced
aluminium and light as a feather. At least I can hold off for a bit now
and still resell the Gator board if I need too.

Just stop using all those silly, unnecessary pedals. You'll probably be
surprised how great your amplifier sounds again.

I have a Pedaltrain. You can put the PPII beneath it and its very versatile.

Probably no good for 240v tho.

Actually, it is. Switchmode power supplies, unlike transformer based ones,
can handle a wide range of voltages .. I use them in US and Europe. All you
need is an appropriate outlet adapter.
