SOmething I've been working on

This is a song I did. I don't want to say I "wrote" is, as it is more aptly
an arrangement of horror movie themes, and other "scary music", done as a
rock tune.

It started with me imagining Steve Vai playing one of my favorite horror
pieces (I won't say which right now). I took an informal survey of people I
knew, asking them what music most sent chills down their spine. I lack the
ability to play guitar like Steve Vai (I'm a drummer), or anything even
remotely close, but I wanted to get something down for potential guitarists
to hear to have a better idea what I'm trying to do. One way for me to do
that was to lay it all out as a MIDI track, that way, I could program what I
can't play. I used Project 5 by Cakewalk. Input was either via an M-Audio
Oxygen8 v2 MIDI controller, or by simply inputting each individual note via
mouse click.

The next step is to record it using real instruments. I have a guitarist
lined up. We just need to figure out when we can get our schedules together
to dial this in and get it recorded.

I imagine getting permission from all the necessary copyright holders would
be a nightmare, and likely never happen. So... this is just a personal
project for my own enjoyment.

Keeping in mind this is a "draft" copy, intended only to preserve and
communicate the idea of the finished piece, I welcome all comment,
suggestions, criticisms, insults, stupid questions, smart questions, or
whatever else you may wish to offer.

Finally... the fun part for you... name all 18 "scary" songs I used. Some of
them are very near the original piece, some of them are significantly
different from the original piece - but not so much so that a horror movie
fan couldn't possibly recognize it.
