Get yourself a rack of JBL 6290 amps, an array of Cyclone speakers
http :// www .audiojunkies,com /product/1006/phoenix-gold-cyclone-reviews and search
for the "brown note" http :// en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_note

Everyone that has a home studio and neighbors nice enough to put up with it
hates you right now. Ass thing to do. Even more so coming from someone who
claims to be involved in music.

Richard.

I knew that white supremicist bigot's notwithstanding, there had to be
quite a few other guys who read that wad's note and immediately saw what
he was, vs. agree with him and his phuctarded band saw fantasy--.

It wasn't until later in the thread that racial / ancestory / cultural
issues were raised re; the neighbors who were doing the karaoke--, that
only added gasoline to the walking nail bomb this imbecile is.

I detest karaoke too, and I'm sure the voices in this case are sheer
'nails on a chalkoard', but the back door passive aggressive way he
claimed to have handled it was despicable, re; cowardly.

Thanks. Glad to be of service.
Musicians need to accommodate their neighbors. I solved the problem easily
by using a room in the middle of my house. .

for all of you homebound headbangers get a life. Most of your neighbors hate
you for a damn good reason.

it's a sign of our times. There are a lot of Americans with a lack any
concern for others. Get all the joy and excitement you can and to hell with
anyone else.

My neighbors living room where they practice their awful singing is about
25' from where I eat, watch tv, cook. exercise, listen to music etc...These
are older houses with little insulation and single pain windows. If he would
just move his sadistic crap to another room I would have no problem and have
told him this 3 times. the time for taking is over.

I never complain about noise. The last house I lived in had a practicing
drummer next door. My new neighbors are untalented wannbees that have no
business bothering anyone. And absolutely no reason to use amplifiers.

I'm fighting noise with noise and it appears to be working. He was dead
quiet last night. I think the homeowner is actually a victim of his friends
who don't practice at their houses because of respect for thier neighbors.

I've been a musician all my life. I'm 53 and have never had a neighbor
complain to me about noise because I'm considerate until you push me. Then
you have to deal with the consequences of your acts.

Interesting generalization. You must be hanging out with the wrong
Americans.

Agreed dvaoa. I think it's far more a socioeconomic class issue. Low
life's are low life's. In an inner city public housing project, they'll
shitout of a window. In an exclusive private country club, if someone
sees another's accidental litter (say, something blew off of an outdoor
cafe table), they'll pick it up. Those are generalizations for
illustrative purposes, but I think more true, than not. mvm

I've seen the opposite, it's the high-lifes that are usually self-
absorbed without regard for anyone with little means. The people I
run into who aren't really well-to-do are the ones who give more to
charity, tip better, etc. It's almost like the more you have, the
tighter you hold on to it. When my wife waitressed when our kids were
young, the nicest people she waited on were bikers, and the biggest
jerks were usually the big checks. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's been
my experience.

Yup- same here, but stereotypes are always a bit dangerous- there can
be gems and a-holes from either camp.

You have a point of view and I agree with it as well.

I've had the highly unusual advantage of living surrounded by poverty
inner city as a kid/teen, and living in the world of the filthy rich
as a young adult (NYC and SF), finally settling in between.

I've seen 'po trash assholes and assholes with huge $$$. Not upper
middle class, not well-to-to, not wealthy, -old money RICH.

It's our(all men)weakness to generalize. Also, we understandably agree
with what we've experienced, vs. what we're told about.

You have your experiences, I, mine. It doesn't make either of us right
or wrong, only beholden to our own predilections based upon our own
individual perspectives. Make sense -or, is that as the hay8rz online
say, "LoOney", ha ha. :-) mvm

I'm just as guilty as anyone at generalizing.

We all do it to some extent- like I (think I may have) said, it seems to
be the human brain's natural inclination. "A problem identified is a
problem 1/2 solved" though, and to me at least, it seems that somehow,
age improves one's capacity to begin solving the rest of the
challenge...the search for wisdom and great tone, never ends! mvm

Re: noisey neighbors

I actually built a sound proof room that one cannot hear from the outside at all.
I didn't "redneck it" by playing in the center of my house. My Cambodian neighbors
karaoke a lot and it doesn't bother me.
But indeed if someone started hacksawing simply to disrupt my social gathering he
would probably need three operations to get the hacksaw out of his ass.

Richard.
