I spent some time with a Carmen Ghia head... very, very nice.
You're wanting a clean amp? Better play it first.

Re: dr z mini head

hi
I would like to try one but for now it's impossible...maybe by in
June..
For now I'm trying to decide on paper if it is "my amp " or not.
A Delux Reverb is too loud to use at home.
I like EL84 valves tone ad a little bit of overdrive by them...
Any other model I can have a look?
Thanks
Dave

Re: dr z mini head

You could buy a used SF Champ. Since youa re looking for cleans, I think a
Fender is the way to go. But if you are on a budget, I guess a larger amp is
not an option for now. The Deluxe Reverb can be made quiete enough to play
at home, especially since you are looking for clean tones. But it will cost
you $$$. New (reissues) are $999. I guess a used reissue would be about
$650. A used SF Champ shoul dbe about $350. It won't be loud enough to play
out with though, and when you turn it up, it will get really dirty (in a
good way though). A nice BF Princeton would be a great compromise, but they
cost more than the Champ, approaching the price of the DR.

I'm not really in a budget but I do not want to spend money and after
a few months need to spend again to change amp.
I would like to find "my" amp now and keep it for a few years at
least...
If I can save money.. . it 's better :-))
Thanks in advance..
Dave

It's certainly not Fender Twin clean, with the master up almost all the
way and the gain up to the point where you're at a reasonable gig
volume, you're getting more of a crunch rather than country clean.

I understand and I 'll do my best to try one...I'm looking on used
ones...
I've found some Delux Reverb for a good price...
I had a good offer of a GIBSON USA GA5 LES PAUL JUNIOR AMP: 300$.
I've found some review but I'm not shure how much clean it sounds.
Any impression if it is worth to buy this ...I'm still looking for a
good fender...no rush for the big one.
I would like to have a small to use at home at night ..so very low
level.
I'm also thinking to buy a airbrake (attenuator) to use with a "big"
amp..to use at night...
Anoyne is using an attenuator with a fender delux? the sound change a
lot?
Thanks in advance for your patience.
Dave
