Power supply Digitech GNX4 question 9vac 2.1amps vs 9vac 1000ma

Got one of these today real cheap ($50) but it had no power supply. It need
9vac 2.1amps. I had one that was 9vac 1000ma so I gave it a shot. It's been
working fine for hours. Any long term damage possible?

Is the wall wart getting hot? No! Go for it...no cutting out, low
volume, overheating...must have been over rated

life span of the wall wart will be reduced. Is the wall wart over
heating ?

The DC converters used for laptops are pretty
high amperage too .. you just need to be technical
enough to connect the end point right ;-).

RatShack sells a ac/ac converter for AT&T answering machines.
Selectable from 9VAC to 13VAC. I use it to break-in speakers.

more than likely, the gnx4 won't suffer any harm, but the power supply
will probably overheat as it can only supply half the current that the
device requires, and can burn out (*or* set the carpet on fire...ask me
about that large black hole in my living room. berber. ouch.)

Ordered this today:

Already have one with my Delta 1010 and it works fine for the GNX4 plus has
the extra MA's. 3.5 amps vs. 2.1 required.

Somewhat related:
I have a Digitech RP100A, the power supply spec is 9Vac 1.3A. I
measured the operating current under any conditions I could try as a
bit over 300mA. This particular modeler does seem fussy on power
supply voltage though, and I suspect a marginal design as it can cut
out or operate erratically sometimes with some power supplies with
apparently the right specs.

The Atari 800 computer power supply works. I'm using one on a GNX3.

I picked one up from M Audio for 24 bucks. 9vac 3.5 amps but the one you
posted would have been fine and cheaper too!
