Cool nifty licks, Gary but I thought you were
a bass player. Neat bass lines, fo sho.
Exceptional good tones too.

Thanks, Ed.

Yeah, I'm a bass player. But I've never played
any Jazz on bass. I didn't pick up a bass till
I was 25 or so. Power Pop, Rock sort of stuff.
Stayed with it 'cause it was lots of fun! (And,
truthfully, didn't require much effort.)

I started with guitar when I was eight. I was
very fortunate to have an old (to me he was old -
I was eight) family friend who was an amazing
Jazz player. He had played with Pass, had done
sessions on Sinatra albums, etc.. He taught me
as much as I would learn.

Welcome back. That feeling like you have the training wheels on again, stays with ya for a while.

Then, all of a sudden you find yourself at a higher level, and they start calling ya a maniac.

Just go for it, rip out the rear view mirror, and never look back.

<thinking>

Gee, some how I remember talking to some fat man saying the same thing.

He gave me some kicking and screaming as I wouldn't take any excuses.

LOL, I think that changed along the way.

Glad you're back.

Hear is a piece that was recorded from one of the jams at the Goat Cafe early on in my comeback.

http :// www .timeelect,com /goat/guitarapido.mp3

Then,... I hit the blues jams looking for some kats to play with.

http :// www .timeelect,com /Book17.htm

LOL, then there's this little gem from a night where you had those looks glazed looks of being lost
in looking at glazed looks on the stage. A more often than not jam experience with players ya never
met before on the stage. It's a jam thing.

http :// www .timeelect,com /music/sortafunky.mp3

Then I hooked up with Carl, and we've been looking for a drummer we haven't found yet.

Hoping for a good keyboard player too.

All I can tell ya Gary is, I'm have a blast playing with anyone I find at the jams after a 34 year
layoff.

Just, do it.

Carl and I are looking to throw a band together and do some rehearsed material instead of depending
on psychic connection with strangers on stage.

Go for it Gary, and get your ashtray out of the house.

Re: Give a Listen, Please

Hi Gary,
Sorry it took so long, but I was unable to play that clip direct from the
'net. I finally realized that I could download it and it played just fine.
Very odd. Default for the 'net is Apple QT. Once downloaded, WinAmp played
it OK.

I like it. Wish I could play like that. 'nuff said?

Regards,
Phil

I agree with others - very nice and even better getting that tone out
of a $149 guitar!
