Ok, in the box with the guitar were two l shaped tools. One is large and one
is very small. What are these for?

They are probably Allen wrenches for adjusting the bridge and neck
truss rod.

Which one does what, and how do I use them? Also, I see some screws
corresponding to each string. What do these do?

I'd have to see them to say. You should check out the instructions. YOu
don't say what kind of guitar this is, but if it's a Fender, there is
usually a very narrow one for raising the bridge saddle height, and a
larger one for adjusting the bow of the neck.

If you don't know what you're doing, I'd avoid using the tools. You can
safely tweak the bridge without damaging anything, besides putting it
hopelessly out of intonation and losing the parts, but you can damage
the neck by turning the truss rod adjustment wrong.

Again, check out the instructions. There are setup guides on Fender's
web site. Here's the one for the Stratocaster.

Ah, thanks. This is a fender squire. I'll poke around fender, com .

They are Allen keys (hex wrenches in the US?). One is for adjusting the
truss rod - amount of bend in the neck - the other is for adjusting the
saddle height.

Re: tools question

Step away from the Tools Robert!

Seriously, if you don't know how to make adjustments yet (you will learn), I
would stay away from them for now. Get a qualified setup done sometime, and
then see how it was set in case you need to adjust it in the future.

Of course if it's playing fine, don't fix what aint broke!
