another chord, Dmaj7

Ok, the seventh note in the D Major scale is c#. Right? So then D major 7
should be xxx222 right? Because taht second fret on the B string is c#.

Yes, but you should play X00222. It's not the full chord without the
open D string; the open A is optional.

Remember that unlike a major chord, the Maj7 has four notes.

Dmaj7 D-F#-A-C#

You better check that. They are Dminor/maj7 chords.

Dmaj7 is like this:

2 2nd fret
2 2nd fret
2 2nd fret
0 0th fret (i.e. open)
x mute
x mute
