What do these specs mean?

What do these specs mean?

I have an Aria Elecord FET-SPT acoustic-electric guitar. In looking at
the online specs, it states:

Pickups: PZP Piezo
Controls: Q-TN 3and EQ with Auto Tuner

What does it mean? Does it mean that it tunes itself? Thanks for a
translation into everyday English. Mike

Re: What do these specs mean?

Many of those newer controls with eq come with a built in tuner.

I can't imagine that it tunes itself. The new Gibson Robotic Les Paul
does, but that is a very different beast.

As far as the rest, I think you have a piezo crystal based pup, used
on many acoustics, and a small 3 band eq with volume.

Sounds like the set up you see on many Ovations

Mike,

It might help you to download a copy of the owner's manual. Be warned:
Aria's web-site is under construction, so this may take some time.

I followed your suggestion and viewed the manual. It is a short 6 page
manual that describes the functions of all of their guitar models.
Unfortunately it didn't say a word about the specs that I am asking
about. I was hoping that the features are standard enough that some of
you would know what they are talking about. Thanks. Mike

Not normal coil pickups. These give a signal derived from the pressure of
the string varying.

Probably a 3 BAND EQ . Just a tone control with bass , mids and treble.

with Auto Tuner

Incorporates a tuner automatically set to guitar tuning. You have to tune it
but the tuner indicates when the guitar is at the correct pitch.

Re: What do these specs mean?

Norman is correct. "auto tuner" just means that the tuner will
automatically detect which string and note you are trying to tune to.

I don't know if they still make them like this, but on the first electronic
guitar tuners you had to turn a dial to tell it which string you were
tuning.
