The elvis version. Somebody posted a site earlier, I think it was Nil?
Anyway, they have blue christmas here:

When I play this song, I hear a 12 bar E blues progression. I haven't really
played with it that much as I don't like Christmas music, but that was one
thing that always struck me. Everywhere seems to list it as a g based song,
but I'm hearing a 12 bar e blues with variations. What's going on here? AM I
wrong or are they.

It's not a blues progression, but the web site you posted makes the song
a lot more complicated than it has to be. Try this one instead:
