Ronnie Earl

Saw Ronnie Earl tonight in Shirley, Mass.

WOW! If you ever get a chance to see Ronnie Earl live, do it! Great show
from beginning to end. Mostly smokin' hot blues with some jazz, one gospel
and even a piano boogie woogie that Ronnie sat out.

My ten year old son got to shake his hand and got a pick. Really nice guy.

I'll second that. My wife and I saw him at the Bull Run a year ago,
and he really knows how to involve the crowd.

I don't know him (his wife is a super person and helped me get started
in public school teaching), but he seemed really giving. The night we
saw him, he really pitched a young guitarist who was in one of the
opening bands. Had the guy up to play a really cool call-and-response
number and sat one out while young guy played with his band.

Wish Ronnie performed out more.

I'm trying to teach a buddy some bass. We convene "bass camp" each
wednesday eve with Duke Robilliard & Ronnie Earls' "The Duke Meets
the Earl" disk. Mostly 1, 4, 5 blues so great for bass lessons. Duke
is great & Ronnie is just too cool playing rhythm. It's amazing how
doing so little can amount to so much. He does get 'er smokin' every
now & then but for the most part he's simply making Duke sound great.

I have a CD I use like that for playing harp. It's Jimmy Rodgers "Blues
Blues Blues" CD.

I was able to find a new web page for Ronnie with a current schedule of
concert dates here:

Nice. I like the slide show -- especially the pic of Ronnie's rig.

"Strat and Super -- no frills"
