Guitar Center Visit-Line 6 Amp

Guitar Center Visit-Line 6 Amp

Today I went to Guitar Center and tried out the Line 6 Spider III Combo Amp.
I think it was advertised as 150 watts. It had two 12" speakers. I plugged
in and started playing it in the clean mode with the volume low. Suddenly
it switched - all by itself - to the metal mode and the volume sounded like
it was full blast with ear splitting feedback. It scared the crap out of
me! I quickly tried to turn the selector knob back to the clean mode. The
knob turned but it stayed in the metal mode. The volume knob was also
unresponsive. So I shut the amp off and turned it back on. It came on in
the metal mode. I was able to put it back in the clean mode and turn the
volume back down to an acceptable level. I started playing and it did it
again. Very disappointing. Needless to say that made me lose my interest
in the amp. Can anyone recommend some reliable combo amps for me to try
out? I'm thinking of spending no more than $600. Next weekend I'm going
back when I have more time to try some more amps out?

Nest time press the reset button and do a full re-boot.

You have to remember that products sitting out on the floor at
Guitar Center have most likely been played with by allot of
people, expecially kids who could care less if they break it.

I have never heard any bad things about the quality of Line 6
amps, like what you experienced, so I would have to guess the
one you tried was broken by someone. Before you give up on
it, or anything else at Guitar Center, ask to try out another one.

Of course there is always the possibility that one has a factory
defect of some kind, in which case you can still ask to try out
another one.

You are correct in the literal sense, Stephen. But as you are no doubt
aware, language is fluid and ever changing. Grammar is dictated by usage,
not the reverse. This particular expression, in recent years, has morphed;
the spoken negative has been dropped but implied nonetheless. It is painful
to people of our vintage, but is the usage embraced by the younger
generation, at least in the States

"Could care less" seems legitimate to me in spoken English if
accompanied by the right sense of irony and sarcasm. As in a
wryly-spoken "I love your new hairdo" (parent-to-teen).

"Irregardless", on the other hand, is just plain incorrect.

Now that makes sense.
